my grand-parents, parents, and elders used to have this saying, “you might want to hurry up & get somewhere and sit down!” which generally meant you was running around making a lot of unnecessary noise, doing something you had no business doing or you had said something you had no business or knowledge of what it truly meant. That saying was your saving grace to cause you to stop and consider the outcome of the path you was walking. That saying, prevented me from getting into a lot of trouble.
We tend to not realize times in our life when the earthquakes are shaking things up so loudly or when the wind and storms of life are making things difficult to see, move or sometimes breathe. Whirling around all the junk and debris we’ve surrounded ourselves with but we continue in our pursuit of happiness thinking we know it all. Then when the fire comes we think we are in the clear, we think we can control it and manipulate things for our (selfish) good but haven’t yet once paid attention to what was consumed in the process or who was hurt in the aftermath.
I say this with as much love as was given me in my youth and reminded of as I have gotten older, “you might want to hurry up & get somewhere and sit down and be quiet!”
In the humbling words of a childhood friend:
“this is Gary Gnu, and the no gnews is good gnews show, the only TV gnews program guaranteed to contain no gnews whatsoever!”
Look Deeper and PRAY harder…ssshhhh!!
