Simply Ask & Recieve???

Simply Ask & Recieve

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith nothing wavering. For he that waiver is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” James 1: 5-8 NKJV

One of the major problems we have as children is we generally take stuff that don’t belong to us fearful of asking  because we fear rejection.  We believe at times we are rightful because the answer would be no so why not simply take or manipulate a yes.

In the above scripture text direct your attention to…ask in faith nothing wavering. As children we are not taught faith when we ask for things. Faith is something given but is strengthen over time. Faith is not immediate. Faith is not right now. Faith is hoped for and seen later.

Because faith is not right now we have a tendency of asking after the fact or as a technicality. Then we ask for things that we are not willing to work for and expect others to give them to us as gifts. We even call ourselves getting mad or angry when we don’t get the gift or am given something freely and heartfelt because we decided we were more worthy of that brand new car, game system, female or male partner, person in our life that…well let me not preach this

We ask for things with a wavering spirit not knowing what’s best or needed. We ask for things but never ask for the wisdom to manage, take care of nor provide for what has already been given.

What are you asking God for?
