Transform not Conform
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2 KJV
Let this settle in your spirit, often times we speak this scripture as is part of our memory and we measure one another and remind one another to transform…often preached with a metamorphosis mentality concerning caterpillars to butterflies. Lest we forget the first part one must do is not conform to the things of this world.
You see brothers and sisters there in is were the enemy lies in wait, there in is bondage, there, in conformity we do what everyone else says and does. We jump when everyone jumps, we curse cause others curses, we judge and quantify the works and abilities of one another or lack thereof, against a worldly standard of acceptance; however contrary to the Word of God. We are not humble but hasty. We are not respectful but wasteful. We are not faithful but hateful. We seldom pray but talk selfishly of self works. We build wealth, destroy families, kill one another, take away what does not belong to us from others and say they are weak. We speak negative things into the atmosphere….not you! I am speaking to everyone else, not the one who believes in God yet when questioned, well. When tested, when looked at differently, when asked says, “God’s still working on me!” or feels they’re being judged and goes on the attack, “who you talking too, I remember when you…”
People of God. Conformity is what gets us in trouble cause no one stands for God, we stand for ourself. The children of Israel lost themselves by getting caught up in the affairs of everyone else and turning themselves (hearts, minds and body) away from God…they conformed!
It’s time to transform!
