“And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.” 1 Samuel 3:10 KJV
Discerning the voice of GOD can be a difficult at times. This happens more often than most people think because we are so accustomed to so many other voices, we take on so much advise, we speak more than we listen because one always has something to say.
I too, in times past disregarded the voice of God. I was having to much fun and it seemed to be more burdensome always going to church, i felt i was forced as a child and didn’t fully understand what was being impart to me, everyone else (my friends) seemed to be having more fun and in receipt of more gifts.
But as i matured, as i studied, when i decided to stop listening to everyone else, stop running to other people with my problem hoping they would give me the solution/answer. I was able to once again hear a familiar voice.
I once again recalled not only the voice of God, but instructions, visions, dreams. I remembered seasons, moments when i just felt and knew the Presence of God with me.
May this Word encourage and inspire us to remember to be silent and wait for the LORD to call you into service.
